Flensburg has flair

Walking through the old town the contrast with Schleswig couldn't be greater. While towards the southern part, the signs of the death of the high street are apparent, but it's not all cafés and chain stores with some quaint side streets and courtyards.

Parts of the city are obviously being gentrified after years of neglect. Certainly an optical improvement and it doesn't yet feel like the city is being turned into a tourist trap where the locals can no longer afford to live. Let's hope so because we'd love to come back.
